It really shouldn't come as a surprise that Silent made it to first place. Armed with immense creativity and an amazing art style to bring it out into the world, Silent's an artist everyone on the site discovers after just a few days: every one of her posts always ends up either making it to highlighted, top trending, or to the front page.
Her galley's very varied as well. You'll find depictions of basketball games, isometric cities, and whatever this is. Oftentimes, given the nature of her pieces, I think of Silent as a digital artist who happens to work with pixels. I think it's safe to say she knows what she's doing, and we hope she never stops making art.
Side note: I swear to God, this lady wins every damn contest she enters. Congratulations, but like, leave some for the rest of us? Please.
Summers' art gallery consists of a bestiary's worth of critters, creatures, and things bigger than either, often with detailed backstories to back them up. The insane fantasy anatomy in each of his creations makes me wonder if he's keeping them somewhere and referencing pictures of them; guess we'll never know.
The 'character' designs themselves are very well done, and really complex for what could just have been another toucan or parrot: each aspect of the creature's bodily make-up seems to be placed with undying intention and with almost-evolutionary purpose, given the fantasy worlds they're meant to be living in. Summers really seems to like world-building: his largest project is Origins: Tales of the Crimson Jade. You can find a boatload of art about a planet within named Zerottakida, here. Go support the guy and throw him a follow if you haven't.
JHL's seen a rather successful year this 2023, having been a very prolific and consistent poster (especially in the holiday seasons!) His art has a very stylized cartoonish look to it which definitely brightens up at least a few days: you can always tell who made the drawing from those bright colors and bouncy animations.
One thing he's been doing this year is Group Requests, where he puts a bunch of people into a fun little crossover, which I think is a wonderful way to tighten the community's bonds together. It also plain looks cool, and it's great to see your OCs and personas drawn in someone else's style. Speaking of, he's got a very unique one: dark outlines, solid whites, never fully-black blacks, rounded edges, it looks kinda cute. Never change, JHL. Are those your initials?
P.S. I think he also made the neat-looking art for those new badges as well, but correct me if I'm wrong.
