Best Nine(?) - Page 3
Dawgsnatcher's painterly-looking pixel clusters and masterful use of limited color palettes make up the quintessential examples of pixel art; they're so good, they look like they come straight outta PixelJoint! Drew's style is very distinctive, and aside from happy little treees or portraits of music nerds, he's often drawing whatever he feels like.
Drew actually posts his drawing process often to share with the public. It's very interesting how he goes about it, really. He knows how to craft a good material, or a really nice looking ship. Each and every one of those 69k art likes is deserved for all the skill and experience this man shows on a near-weekly basis. Go follow him if you somehow haven't yet!
Although Vagabond posts have been rare this year, each one has always been a great display of their pixel talents. They've got the ability to create beautiful scenes, and use the most well-fitting palettes to paint with. 8BA's also a very versatile vagabond, posting portraits, five-point perspectives, and whatever POTION SELLER is.
I hope we see at least a little more art from 8BA in future, since they're a really talented spirit. Here's to 2024! (P.S. POTION SELLER might be the best bit of art on the platform. Please make more.)
These two artists actually tied the vote, so in the interest of time, I'll be writing quickfire reviews for both. Hope you both are fine with that. Grab your virtual champagne bottles.
ScotlandTom:
Tom's very new to the platform, but his art's already gained him about 900 followers and a spot on the Google Image gallery for "clock pixel art." Tom's art teems with creativity and original ideas, and you could pick out a few which could probably make me kick the bucket in laughter. Twice. His dithering-y shading style reminds me of 90s-era pixel art, but I can't tell if he got it fom there or not; nevertheless, it looks astounding. Hope to see more!
SirPants:
SirPants hasn't posted all too much this year, but his biggest breakout happened with this wonderful drawing of Link, which just so happens to be a redraw of a redraw. His art could be described as somewhat noisy, but I've always thought it fit, given his near laser-focus on vegetation, which he's pretty good at. Those 2400 followers are completely deserved for what he's been putting out over his Pixilart career.
